I
have just been looking at your site and would like to put forward our
venue as one of your options for your dating events.
The Yard
House, formerly Paddy McGuires, undertook a recent a major
refurbishment undertaken by the venue’s owner, Metro Hospitality
Group, has seen the venue significantly expand its offering to appeal
to a broader clientele.
Located on the corner of George and
Hay Streets, Yardhouse Bar and Brasserie has been transformed both
internally and externally, converting it into a stylish and
contemporary venue while still paying homage to the heritage of the
area, particularly the former Palace Hotel which once occupied part
of the site.
The ‘Yardhouse’ name was inspired by the
popular beer drinking vessel of the 1800s, the yard glass, while the
front bar off George Street has been renamed the Palace Bar and will
continue to appeal to the traditional patrons of the area who enjoy a
drink after work.
The Palace Bar has been refurbished and
partially reconstructed in its original location and the timber
features of the bar restored to their original finery. More than 60
craft beers are available, on tap and in the bottle, while an all-day
bar menu is available. Decorated with reference to jazz musicians,
this stylish heritage-inspired area offers a place to relax and
unwind in comfort while enjoying a cooling ale, just as generations
of Sydney siders have done in centuries gone by.
The middle
bar is newly created as part of the refurbishment and connects the
Palace Bar with the Brasserie. This intimate area, with seating for
just 18 guests, is furnished in lounge-style and is expected to be a
popular haunt for couples and small groups.
A contemporary
brasserie with seating for 118 patrons forms the heart of the venue.
The interior design carries through aspects of the heritage-style
Palace Bar with accents of dark timber and polished brass, with the
addition of plush modern furnishings in the form of lounges,
banquettes, chairs and stools along with dining tables and a framed
view of the working kitchen. The result is a harmonious fusion of
dining comfort and kitchen energy, forming the perfect heart for the
new Yardhouse Bar and Brasserie.
